Behind The Lens

Location

This barn is part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and this happens to be on scenic M22.

Time

This shot was captured an a very overcast Fall afternoon.

Lighting

Well.....like I said, it was a gray and gloomy afternoon so the light was pretty flat.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D3x with an 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom lens so that I could get a closer shot of the cupola on top of the barn. You really on see cupola's on these old barns anymore.

Inspiration

This old farmstead is just a beautiful look back at what this area used to be. Some of the old apple trees are still holding on and the rolling hills of colorful trees framing the old place.

Editing

There was not a whole lot to do to this image in post.

In my camera bag

I carry my trusty old Nikon D3x and a wide assortment of lenses with me. There will also be extra camera batteries as well a some snacks for when I forget to eat while I am out shooting.

Feedback

When I see places like this I start with the wide big picture view and then start to work my way in and find some interesting angles and vignettes of the scene.
