Location
This photo was taken at a senior assisted living center in one of their common areas.Time
Hard to say what exact time but suffice it to say it was probably in the afternoon.Lighting
Available light is all I used. It was tough to color correct too since there was daylight through some windows, florescent coming from the ceilings and tungsten light coming from the nearby lamps.Equipment
I used my nikon D3 with my Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 micro lens. I had to hand hold this one since there was really no time to set up a tripod for such a busy little bird.Inspiration
It was just that it was such a cool little bird so naturally, I had to shoot it.Editing
I always do a little post processing to my images. I do just the basics to get it perhaps a little sharper and adjust color a bit to make it look more natural. Thats about it.In my camera bag
My camera bag has my Nikon D3 or D3x along with a few lenses. I have a Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8, Nikkor 105mm f/2.8, Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8, Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 and a Sigma 14mm f/2.8. I also have some folding reflectors, lens cleaner, hot shoe flash , a loop and some snacks.Feedback
In this case it was just being ready because the subject is not going to sit still for you. So, the better you know your camera the better off you'll be.
