The photo was taken in my garden. It's amazing how much time i can spend in this tiny garden with my camera and macro lensTime
It was nice warm morning after a quick rain. Perfect time for a macro shots, all bugs & insect getting up and about.Lighting
Although it was sunny morning i had to use my macro ring flash as the flower with the ladybug was in shadowEquipment
This was shot on Nikon D300 with Tamron SP 60mm F/2.0 Di II Macro and macro ring flash.Inspiration
I love using macro photography to bring the unseen and hidden beauty of the miniature world to life. I'm always inspired by work of Ukrainian photographer Vyacheslav Mishchenko.Editing
I use Photoshop for post-processing and the most work i do in the Camera Raw. Changing exposure, shadow, highlights, contrast... With this shot though i went much further. I've changed colour of the flower (daffodil ) from yellow to blue. That changed the picture completely. In my camera bag
It depends what shots I'm planning. For macro i use Nikon D300 body with Tamron SP 60mm F/2.0 Di II Macro and 50mm prime . My latest addition to my bag is Raynox DCR-250 Macro Lens - added to 50 mm prime lens changing it into a good macro lens. A tripod, remote trigger release and macro ring light are very important and always taking it with me. More unusual things in my bag is small spry bottle with water ( water droplets on the plants looks nice ) and... syringe with honey. It's so much easier to take a good shot when your insect model is busy eating sweet honey ;)Feedback
First advice would be - be patient. And second ? Like i mentioned before, a little bit of honey usually help in this kind of photography. It's a small payment for a good shot ;) Also - use tripod and trigger release ! You might think your hands are steady but with macro shots even tiny movement might destroy a great shot.
