Location
This photo was taken in my garden. I have a few mantids and taking them out for a "walk" sometimes :)Time
It was a lovely day and Pinky - the mantis was happy to pose for me. She usually try to find some sunny spot and like to watch everything around.Lighting
I do like to use natural light when is possible and was lucky that day with beautiful sun.Equipment
This was shot on Nikon D810 with Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens using tripod and trigger cable.Inspiration
I had seen amazing pictures of mantis on ViewBug and always wanted to try it. They are amazing creatures.Editing
In this particular case i didn't had to do much. Just changing RAW to JPEG and correcting exposure. In my camera bag
Always packing first my Nikon D810, Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro lens, spare batteries and tripod with trigger cable. Always taking some other lenses for landscapes just in case.Feedback
Always use tripod and trigger cable - with macro photography any small movement might waste a good opportunity for a great shot.
