We were traveling home from Colorado last week and decided to stop at a very small wildlife refuge (pond and wetlands) we had passed many times. Thanks to several stops along the way, we had been on the road for 5 hours and had another 4 to go. So, unfortunately, our stay here had to be brief. I grabbed my camera and started walking toward the pond. The first thing I noticed was that the bulrushes were full of yellow-headed blackbirds - wow! I had never seen this bird in the wild before. There were also six snowy egrets at the pond's edge. Walking back to the car I saw this dragonfly. I rarely see dragonflies at all and certainly none this large. I could not get it to look at me so I could photograph it's cute face! This photo symbolizes the way I view life. It really is about the journey, not the destination...and I love the journey!
