I was flying a Gulfstream II at about FL390 passing beside the tops of a line of thunderstorms that had formed ahead of a cold front passing through Montana. I captured the image because it was sort of a text book example of how fronts work. Several years later I captured an image of an F-4 Phantom in a static display at the air museum in Tyler Texas. It seemed these two images worked well together so thanks to Photoshop here it is.

Excellent capture. As a person who loves photographing aircraft (but has so far been limited to shooting from the ground) how do you get a shot like this from a Gulfstream? It looks like it's shot from behind and to the side.

Hi Ken, as MKoelen says this is two images put together. It would be difficult to get this image from a Gulfstream as you say because it looks like the image was taken the back end of another aircraft. The magic of photoshop allows us to do all kinds of stuff. I have taken a number of images of aircraft that are on static display at airshows and put them into sky scenes with varying results. It's really hard to get the light right. The light worked well on this one.
