Location
This image was captured before sunrise on the Lower Mountain Fork river in south eastern Oklahoma.Time
It was about 30 minutes before sunrise, not exactly sure of the time on my watch but it was 0-Dark-30 when we got out of bed.Lighting
I always carry one of the Olympus Stylus Tough cameras when I am fly fishing. I have had three successive models and the TG-4 Model was the one that took this picture. The newest rendition of this camera is the TG-5. I have to confess that it was set to automatic and the lighting situation was into the light created at the horizon by the rising sun. There was of course mist over the river diffusing the light producing the result you see in the image.Equipment
Hand held, Olympus Stylus Tough (TG-4) set on Automatic.Inspiration
As you might gather I am not just a photographer but a Fly Fisherman. I have a little trouble separating the two activities because trout are caught in beautiful places and the photo opportunities are tremendous. It's not unusual for me to have a fish on the line being dealt with by my right hand while I am trying to take a picture with my left.Editing
I usually do a little post processing in most of my images but other than cropping this one is pretty much as it was out of the camera. In my camera bag
Nikon D800E, Olympus Stylus Tough, Sigma 150-600mm Zoom, Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, Nikkor 85mm f/1.8, Nikkor 105 Micro, Nikkor 24-300MM Zoom, Nikkor 16mm Fish Eye and a Nikkor 500mm f/1.8. Full array of Cokin Filters and other filters for the various lenses. While fly fishing I only carry the Olympus. Manfroto Tripod with a ball head mount.Feedback
Always have a camera handy and use the best equipment you can afford. The results are usually very pleasing.
