This was a shot set up and taken in my study. Using available light in the roomTime
Afternoon indoors.Lighting
The room is a a light beige leaning toward a yellow pallet with overhead lights and 2 windows. I set up a dark blue back ground, fruit and red wine to shoot this image.Equipment
Shot with a Canon 50D, 17-40L lens, available light, and a tripod. Shallow depth of field, F5.6 at 1/4 sec., ISO 400.Inspiration
I'm mostly a wildlife and nature photographer but I was attempting to shoot something out of my comfort range. I thought of setting up a shot that could be used to go with the theme of our kitchen.Editing

I carry all Canon Equipment. Now days I carry a 5D, 50D, 100-400 ISL,17-40 L, 50mm 1.4, 28-135 IS, 430EX and 530EX flash, cable release, circular polarizing filters, and a set of defusers. I also carry a Bogen Wilderness Tripod or a Bogen Monopod on all outings.Feedback
For me this was about experimenting. When I feel like I'm getting stale I think the best thing to do is experiment and don't get discouraged if it takes a few shots to get what you have in your mind. Take the time and make sure it's everything you want.
