Behind The Lens

Location

At the home of this family. My daughter had just come home with her triplets.

Time

Taken the day they came home from the hospital.

Lighting

Available light in a light yellow painted room.

Equipment

Canon 5D, 28-135 IS lens, tripod.

Inspiration

I had been thinking of a way to get the whole family in the shot to make the birth announcement for the triplets. The one on the left is held by Dad's hands, the right is Mothers hand, and the one in the middle was their 5 yr sisters hand. They were 15 days old and this image just came to me.

Editing

The only post processing was to crop for the picture I needed and adjusted the exposure slightly.

In my camera bag

I carry all Canon Equipment. Now days I carry a 5D, 50D, 100-400 ISL,17-40 L, 50mm 1.4, 28-135 IS, 430EX and 530EX flash, cable release, circular polarizing filters, and a set of defusers. I also carry a Bogen Wilderness Tripod or a Bogen Monopod on all outings.

Feedback

The thing about this type of photo is having a concept in mind and making sure the lighting and depth of field are what they should be. The particulars of the shot was F5.6, ISO 400, 1/40th of second on tripod.
