Location
Taken in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.Time
Taken around 6:30am on a foggy but sunny morning.Lighting
When I saw the light and how it was playing with the fog and shadows I had to get this shot. It was almost what I would call a spiritual and inspirational moment. This was a pure available light shot.Equipment
Shot with my old Canon 10D,28-135 IS lens,on a tripod.Inspiration
The scene to me was almost spiritual and inspirational. I thought that all of my life I had looked to shoot under these conditions and it was as if the moment just presented itself and I couldn't not take this photograph!Editing
No post processingIn my camera bag
I shoot all Canon equipment. Now I have a Canon 5D, Canon 50D, 100-400 Canon ISL lens, 28-135 IS Canon Lens, 17-40 L series lens, 50mm f1.4 lens, polarizing filters, diffusers, cable release and I always try to have a tripod and/or Mono pod with me at all times.Feedback
To get these type shots you have to be out early, follow the light, and look closely for what catches your eye. Never hesitate to take the shot. This shot requires careful metering in order to get the detail and effect that you want.
