Location
This photo was taken in Tenerife- Orotava Valley, while waiting for the night so I could shoot some stars.Time
This was taken just after the sunset, saying that the sun was probably still visible down by the coast, as orotava valley is at around 2000m above sea level.Lighting
This was the most challenging photo I have taken, I ended up taking 3 different exposures and stacking them together into an HDR image as with one photo it would not do the justice to this view and to what I could see.Equipment
I used a Canon 6d with a Rokinon 14mm f2.8 manual lens and a Joby tripod, the small ones with twisty legs and a Hahnel Giga III wireless remote.Inspiration
I found my spot to shoot stars, Milky Way with TMt Teide in the backgrown and while waiting for the night I just enjoyed the views and noticed how surreal and alien planet like the valley looks during golden hour so I started taking photos but nothing worked with a single shot, so then I turned to bracketed shots and took 3 that I later stacked together, I did not use the in camera HDR setting as I don't quite like it.Editing
Yes I stacked the 3 exposures together with Lightroom and did some minor adjustments for colour and lights. In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 6d, rokinon 14mm f2.8 lens, a 1.8 50mm canon lens, spare batteries, a torch or two, Hahnel Giga II remote, Pentacon electric 2.8 135mm lens that is older than me, Sigma 70-300mm lens, camera cleaning equipment, a few filtres - UV, Polarised and a couple of ND ones 4 stop, 8 stop and 10 stop. Always a must is painkillers since I live with Ankylosing Spondylitis (I am in pain every day) and a Manfrotto tripod that is atatched to my bag. If I am not in too much pain then I also will drag Sky-watcher star adventurer with me, and somehow will manage to fit it all in my Camera bag.Feedback
Experiment, and take a couple of photos with different exposures, If you do bracketed photos then start off with 1 step and do another 3 with 2 steps and then 3 steps to see which works best.
