WOW! Beautiful lighting, framing and amazing subject - the timing of getting bird's spread wings looks amazing!

wow ! how amazing ... love it ! little something though : it would have been even more stunning if the tip of the boat would be visible ... ;)

Maybe you're right, although for some reason composition felt 'right' at the time of shooting. Probably I have an image with a tip of boat too so I'll have to compare. Thanks for suggestion

I got the idea that I've seen such a beautiful capture before. Not exactly the same, but the same atmosphere, the same colors,
Doesn't matter this capture is stunning.

Location
I took this photo in Yangshuo, China from the banks of Li River.Time
It was getting dark already and as it was cloudy all day, the sunset was rather dull.Lighting
The sky was overcast and even though it was sunset, no light was going through the clouds. Fortunately, there was also a bit of haze in the distance which created nice atmosphere. And the lantern held by fisherman made the lighting quite pleasing overall.Equipment
I used Canon 5D MK IV with Canon 24-105 f/4 L lens on a tripod.Inspiration
I had seen a lot of photos of cormorant fishermen in the past and I had read a lot of stories about that centuries-old tradition (which, sadly is practically gone now). So when I went to China I knew I had to see and photograph it myself.Editing
Mostly, I fixed white balance to make it warmer. I also enhanced contrast and made the reflection stand out a bit more by darkening it a little bit and also adding some extra contrast and clarity there. In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 5D MK IV as my main camera, 5D MK III as a backup, several lenses (ultra-wide angle zoom, wide angle prime, standard zoom and tele zoom), tripod, a bunch of filters (polarizer, neutral density grads), several batteries and a lot of memory cards.Feedback
Make sure you photograph when it's getting darker as this will create nice contrast between the fisherman holding his lantern and the rest of the scene. Make sure to photograph from low angle to capture some nice reflections which will make composition much more powerful.
