This photo was taken in the town of Yangshuo, Kuangsi region, China. It's a charming, and less touristy town nearby the much more famous (and crowded) Guilin.Time
It was taken in the middle of the day and even though it's far from perfect time for landscape photography, the view of the bridge reflecting in the still river water was striking.Lighting
I must admit, the lighting wasn't particularly good on that day. It was very cloudy most of the time. Luckily, in this case it's more about the symmetry and reflection than light. I can only imagine how good it could look with better light. Maybe you will have more luck than I did :)Equipment
I used Canon 5D MK IV with Canon 24-105 f/4 lens on a tripod.Inspiration
I saw plenty of bridges reflecting in the still water and I took inspiration from all of those photos.Editing
I always post-process my images and this one is no different. In this case I mainly used ON1 Photo Raw 2019. The main edits were making the tones much warmer (by adjusting white balance but also hue and saturation of specific colours), increasing the contrast and making the reflection a bit darker (by using gradient local adjustment in ON1).In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 5D MK IV as my main camera, 5D MK III as a backup, several lenses (ultra-wide angle zoom, wide angle prime, standard zoom and tele zoom), tripod, a bunch of filters (polarizer, neutral density grads), several batteries and a lot of memory cards.Feedback
When shooting bridges it's always nice to find some symmetry so using center composition might be useful (even though it's often advised to avoid it). The easiest way is to use water reflection for that (as it creates perfect symmetry on its own).
