Location
El Medano, Tenerife, just around the corner from the hotel I was staying in..out for an exploratory walk, trying to find alternatives to beach shotsTime
I was out for a walk in the early afternoon, but being winter, the sun was not as hot and the light not as bright as it would be in the summer, so there was a nice cloud shapeLighting
Quite bright which I felt gave a zing to the coloursEquipment
Just an Olympus-TG1 which we had only just bought.Inspiration
I just loved the expansive sky above the colourful houses and scrubby plants! I was on a winter holiday and thought the vibrant colours would be a great reminder of the sun once I got home to a chilly, grey England!Editing
Panorama created using in-camera settingsIn my camera bag
Usually at home I have a Nikon D5100 with a 70-300mm Nikkor telephoto lens and the 18-55 kit lens. I also have a Nikon J2 and Olympus Tg-1. I have a tripod and monopod, filters, macro light etc. but tend not to carry them due to spine problems and arthritis. So the only thing I am never without is a spare battery and SD card! On holiday I tend to carry the smaller cameras for ease.Feedback
I guess it's just keeping an eye out for an unusual composition : in the case of panoramas, thinking (and seeing) 'laterally'!
