OK boy, if you can pick your head up, you can have one more pint :-) I love this image, and I wish my head was on the bar next to this handsome fellow!!

Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken in a pub in Hampshire
Time
Lunchtime, well, just before eating, after a quick pint!
Lighting
The lighting was actually fairly dim
Equipment
Just a point and shoot Olympus, hand held, no flash
Inspiration
I know this dog very well as he belongs to a close family member. He has a very expressive face and in this picture was actually looking bored and a bit fed up that we were in the pub and not out playing in the sea where he loves to fetch sticks. I just thought the picture of him looking at the empty glass was very amusing, especially his expression!
Editing
Contrast adjusted, slight lomo and Orton effects using Picasa
In my camera bag
I usually carry several cameras (although this time I only had one!) : Nikon D5100 with 55-300mm telephoto lens, Nikon coolpix P900, Nikon J2 with 10-30mm lens. I always carry spare batteries and SD cards. I sometimes use a monopod or tripod and occasionally use filters or macro gear. This pic was taken with an Olympus TG-1 which is compact and quick.
Feedback
Be prepared to catch that quirky moment, regardless of what equipment you use: a mobile phone camera can do the job well. It's all about opportunistic awareness and spotting something that has some resonance.
