Great close up. It's hard to get photos of parrots because they never seem to stay still unless they are asleep. Beautiful colors, awesome photo!

Location
This shot was taken at the Cleveland Zoo. You are able to go in and feed the lorikeets, but I was to drawn into the beauty of these birds to feed them, I had to photograph them.Time
This photograph was taken in the middle of the day, but inside a bird sanctuary. It was an awesome feeling to be there in the middle of the day and just having these birds flying all around you.Lighting
When walking into the bird sanctuary, you look above you and all you see is this dome above you. It lets light in but is diffused of the sunlight due to it is not a clear glass covering. The sun was directly above the dome and gave the perfect lighting to catch the brilliant colors of the Lorikeets.Equipment
This was shot with a Cannon Rebel 3Ti, which is my favorite camera. I used an 18-55mm 3.5 f/stop lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I take photographs of everything. I spent a lot of time in the dome and took probably 100 pictures. It was a lot of fun as the Lorikeets seem to have a great personality and you just get lost in trying to get a great photo. You forget everything and it is just about them and the camera.Editing
I did use photo shop to crop this image, but I did not have to do any other editing. In my camera bag
I always carry my Cannon Rebel T3i Camera as this is the best camera I have found. I love it. I also have an assortment of lenses. The primary lens that I usually use for everything except specialty pictures if my Cannon 18-55mm lens. I do a lot of close up shots and this lens is great. I also have a telephoto Cannon 75-300mm which is great for nature pictures. Sometimes you want a great shot but don't always want to be that close to the subject ex: a bear. I also carry a Cannon 80-200 mm and a 35-80mm, but do not use these as often. Of course, there are always times when these lenses also are the perfect lens to use!! I also carry a tripod and monopod, a collapsible 6 way reflector, a flash unit and a shutter release.Feedback
Just have fun with taking the pictures. I find that the best pictures come when I am just snapping randomly and following my subject for candid shots. I mostly take nature and animal pictures and this is the best and most fun I have in photography. Remember that you can take thousands of pictures to get just one that you are so proud of.
