Location
At the beach in "De Haan", that's in Europe-Belgium.Time
Early summer evening.Lighting
Only natural light used here - as usual, I 'm no fan of using a flash.Equipment
The image was taken out of hand, kneeled for a low pov view, and taken with my favorite 50-140mm 2.8 Fujinon zoomlens. No tripod nor flash was used.Inspiration
Well, actually I was just taking some candid shots of people, boats and dogs, when I noticed this young and really motivated girl her mum taking pictures with her cellphone of her jumping full of drama and passion. I was proud with my candid capture and (after some hesitation) decided to walk up to the fun-loving family to show the image. Then, to my surprise and pleasure, the mother asked if I 'd mind taking another picture of 'Johanna' (15 and autodidact) her jump as her cellphone might not give the same quality. She jumped twice in three seconds and I was lucky enough to get this image.Editing
When viewing the best image at home I started experimenting with different crops, color processing and conversions to B&W with my favorite LR program. In my camera bag
Usually I have one Fuji mirrorless body with me with a wide 16mm lens or even my 10-24mm. But my experience is, at least at the beach, that I 'll soon swap over to a longer lens, like my 50-140mm or even my 100-400mm for interesting candit shots.Feedback
Have your gear as ready as possible for any kind of special moment. At any time, when least expected, something or someone appears doing whatever ;-) And don't hesitate to make contact and show your 'stolen moment' candid photo's. I have had many lovely conversations and most of the time people are really greatfull to receive the image(s) trough the WWW. I even received a lovely and hartwarming Christmas family photo from Germany with this capture enlarged on canvas hanging on the wall next to their Christmas tree. My thanks for Johanna and her kind family!
