Location
At the beach of "De Haan" in Belgium.Time
End of the day - at dusk.Lighting
Sometimes it's worth waiting for that last sunlight - I like combining the action with shillouettes.Equipment
My backup camera "Sony RX10" - no tripod of flash used here (never).Inspiration
As I got to know this friendly local surfer, 'Jurgen Langbeen', I got to learn his tricks and style of surfing. I hoped he would come to the position where I could capture his shillouette and the movement of the waves of the sea in that dusk light. This moment came to my delight ;-)Editing
I did straighten and crop the image in Lightroom. Only slight adjustments where made to the contrast and sharpening. Perhaps some slight warming up of the color too.In my camera bag
A selection of mirrorless Fuji gear. But I tend to bring my Sony RX10IV along for hikes or photographing action as I do find the focussing better and faster than my more expensive Fuji gear (to my frustration...)Feedback
Get to learn your subjects, their way of moving and style. Keep low, I personaly find it helps the composition and the waves seem more allive and impressive this way.
