I had been traveling for almost 9000km when I took this shot. A scorcher of a day in Etosha. I was driving up to Pan's Edge when I suddenly spotted this magnificent creature trying to cool itself down by throwing sand on itself using its trunk. We enjoyed each others company for about 30 minutes before I moved on. Although taking plenty of shots during this encounter this one stood out for me. The white dust and dry thorns contrasted against the cyan-torquise blue sky creates an almost surreal look and feel.
