Location
This photo was taken in Spooner Wisconsin, on Cable Lake in the summer of 2016Time
Time of night actually. It was around 1 am. I adore night photography and I couldn't pass up the beautiful scene with the lake and pontoon.Lighting
It took me a minute to find the right exposure. Playing with different settings and times. This is all natural light, mostly from the mostly full moon.Equipment
I used my trusted Canon Rebel T5I, my only camera body that is now 3 years old. I used the stock 18-55mm lens that it came with. A tripod and a remote to trigger it.Inspiration
It was a nice night around a campfire and I remember thinking how beautiful the lake looked with it being still, and I decided to grab my equipment and play around.Editing
I did do some post processing. I used light room to take some noise down and sharpen things a bit.In my camera bag
My bag is a scarce bag. I only have my camera body, 18-55mm lens, 50mm lens, remote, extra batteries, a flashlight to help focus on subjects and a little bit of cleaning supplys.Feedback
Don't give up if the first few shots aren't what you want. Always keep trying. Depending on where you're at, night photography is better when your jot shivering from the cold. I always recommend a jacket or swater of some kind.
