Location
The photo was taken near Tromsö in northern Norway. I'm an adventurer and made a roadtrip to Norway last winter.Time
It is in the middle of the night. This shot was taken around midnight. It was the third night I tried to chase the northern lights and suddenly they came. My heart beat so hard, I thought it would jump out of my chest. It was one of the best nights in my life.Lighting
I didn't need any artificial lightning because nature did the best lightning I ever saw.Equipment
This shot was captures with a Nikon D800 combined with a fisheye lens.Inspiration
I watched the lights dance and since they became visible in the dark sky I felt so happy. I felt something that I can't describe. I was ecited, happy and speechless at the same time. Then my happiness made me jump on a stone right in front of the camera. I put my arms high up in the air and took a deep breath. This is the moment that can be seen in this picture. 30 seconds of pure freedome and satisfaction.Editing
There wasn't any post processing necessary. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon D800 and a couple of lenses with me. When it comes to night sky photography I need some more stuff. Then I pack an additional tripod and a remote trigger into my backpack. In this night I also brought a big can of hot chocolate to shorten the waiting period and the warm up the cold fingers.Feedback
Take your time and enjoy! The best pictures are born out of a special moment. Just play around with settings and locations and bring up own ideas. You'll see, when you are happy in this moment because of what you see, the pictures will be great and will always remind you of this moment.
