Beautiful silhouette Hedde. I like that you captured the subtle gray tones in the distance. The too individuals stand out nicely against that background.

Location
The photo was taken at Mooghaun ring fort which is a late Bronze Age hill fort located in co. Clare, Ireland. It's remains are surrounded by lovely thick woods and there is a nice roadway naturally tunnelled by the high trees. It is a great place for a peaceful walk.Time
It was a rainy November afternoon.Lighting
I tend to usually go for backlit shots anyway and I'm in love with silhouettes so the natural light coming in from the open area creating a heavy contrast with the trees suited me perfectly. I didn't feel the need to try and light the foreground in any way.Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D3000 and a Nikkor 18-55mm at 1/100 sec. f/5.6 55 mm ISO1600. That was all the camera equipment involved.Inspiration
I had finished work and felt the need for some fresh air. I had my camera with me as I love the almost therapeutic effect taking photos has on me. The gloomy and low light conditions actually worked in my favour as the woods had such a mysterious and wonderful look to them. When I saw the natural tunnel the trees created I knew I wanted that shot. It didn't actually turn out to be as easy as I thought and after quite a few shots I still wasn't quite happy with what I got and felt like something was missing. I was just about to move on when I saw two people going on a walk with their umbrellas and that was just what I was looking for to complete the shot.Editing
As the light difference between the area where I was standing and the open area further on was very high, the colours on the photograph came out weak and grey as it was. So I decided to turn the photograph black and white and added slightly more contrast to increase the drama. Quick and minimal. In my camera bag
I have my modist but loyal Nikon D3000 body accompanied by its kit lens of 18-55mm 3.5-5.6. Also for these hard to reach shots I use my AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm 4.5-5.6. And my third all importand one is a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 prime. Also in the bag there's a few UV filters to protect the lenses and a ND filter to mostly intensify my landscape shots. A gorillapod and a cleaning kit and extra memory cards to have that extra precious photo space if needed.Feedback
I always read that planning ahead is very important to get that specific shot you are after, I think being open and spontaneous is just as important. I find that some of my favourite shots seem to have found me when I wasn't looking for them. Just have to be ready to capture them when they catch your eye and not get stuck in a specific mind-set of what you think your next photograph should look like. Also persistence is the key. If it seems like there is something missing from your shot experiment with different angles and compositions of the same subject. Sometimes a few subtle changes can really make the photograph special.
