Behind The Lens
Location
I was walking back home one late evening and as I was waiting for the traffic lights to turn Green, I saw this huge web with the spider hard at work. Since I usually walk about with my camera in hand, I quickly set to work and took a couple of shots from which, this was my favourite.Time
It was late in the evening, probably between 10 and 11 pm.Lighting
I used available light, no flash or anything, there were many restaurants in the background that provided for the beautiful boukeh you see in the image.Equipment
The camera was my favourite Canon 5D Mark III. The lens was my 24-105mm F4. I took the shot hand-held, so no tripod was used.Inspiration
The presence of the spider and its huge web grabbed me and I just couldn't leave without taking my shot.Editing
I usually use Adobe Lightroom for starters and sometimes if necessary do some editing in Photoshop, but for this shot, it didn't take any post processing much except for the cropping and conversion to black and white. In my camera bag
You can guess, a camera (sometimes two), an additional lens or 2, an ND filter, extra batteries, extra memory cards, care and maintenance tools, a torch, plastic bag in case of heavy rain. Camera: Canon EOS 5D mark III Lens: Canon 70 - 200 mm f/2.8L, Canon 24 - 105 mm f/4.0L, Canon 50 mm f/1.8 Tripod and head: Really Right Stuff Filter: Kase polariser 77mmFeedback
Carry a camera at all times, you never know what might pop up! One needs to seize one's moment!
