Location
This is a tabletop/still life type of photo and it was taken in my studio in the beautiful city of Guilin, in Guangxi, China.Time
As you already know, tabletop / still life photography can be done at any time of day, as long as you can keep the shutters closed and block out the ambient light.Lighting
i used a polarising filter on the lens to control the reflection of the light upon the leaves and the flowers, a single point lighting using a strobe, have also used V flats as well as flags and other dark cardboards to harness the light and remove unwanted reflections or highlights as much as possible to be able to reveal the rich hues to the viewerEquipment
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III Lens: 70 - 200 mm f/2.8 L IS II USM Aperture: f/2.8 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 2/1 Focal Length: 70/1 Strobe: JinBei Digital Pioneer 300 Tripod and head: Really Right Stuff Filter: Kase polariser 77mmInspiration

Not much, normal adjustments and cropping in Lightroom, no retouching in PS. I try to get the picture right in the camera as much as i possibly can and do as little retouching and post-processing as possible. It is a challenge on its own, but it's worth it :)In my camera bag
You can guess, a camera (sometimes two), an additional lens, an ND filter, extra batteries, extra memory cards, care and maintenance tools, a torch, plastic bag in case of heavy rain. A loop to view the images on the LCD screen when necessary, small tripods and plates, tools and keys.Feedback
Photography is all about light, so look for light, if you are shooting in studio, produce the light, as in this photo, the light was made to shine as it did. If you are happy, cool, if you are not, adjust and readjust your light until you are satisfied. A tabletop / still life image like this can take up to a few days of preparation only to adjust the light so you are happy with it. Peace :)
