New River Gorge Bridge in Hico, West Virginia. October.
My Husband and I go here every year with our dogs in the Fall. It's an amazing place where everywhere you turn is a perfect setting for an amazing image to be taken.
This image I took with my Nikon D300, it was in partial sunlight, ISO 200, 1-200th sec. f-10. I edited it in Lightroom, using a preset called Cool Breeze and then tweaked it to my liking from there as far as highlights, shadows, color, etc.

Thank you! We go every year with our dogs and stay in Hico, West Virginia! They have some great dog-Friendly Cabins! This is probably one of my favorite places on Earth! :)

Location
I took this image at The New River Gorge National Park in Hico, West VirginiaTime
I took this image right around 1:30pm on Sept. 6th , 2015Lighting
It was a nice warm fall day, the lighting was a bit overcast with some clouds in the sky, and peaks of sun.Equipment
Nikon D300 with a 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. ISO 200 @ 1/200th sec. @f/10, handheld.Inspiration
I was walking the stairs down to try and capture the best view of this bridge. There were many visitors to the park that day, so I walked down a trail off the walkway stairs that I probably was not supposed to be on, but I wanted to be able to get a view with no-one in it and that would show the whole expanse of the bridge and the trees surrounding it. The off the beaten path image seemed to be the best one I captured that day.Editing
I do all my own post processing in Lightroom. I try not to use Presets if at all possible, so here I just adjusted for color, highlights and shadows to give the image a kind of out of the mist look.In my camera bag
When this image was taken, I was using a Nikon D300. I have recently upgraded to a Nikon D800 and a 24-70mm lens. I also have a 50mm Prime F/2.8 lens in my bag. I keep my D300 and all my DX lenses in a separate bag as backup.Feedback
My advice would be not to be afraid to walk off the beaten path, I always get better images this way, different and more exceptional views and perspectives. Don't ever be afraid to take a chance.
