Reminds me of the famous bus in the movie, "Into the Wild." In fact, I personally know the artist who did the bus paint job for the movie... Duke Russell

Location
This photo was taken in the gardens at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) Campus. I just happened to be going there for another reason and at the last minute a grabbed my camera. It was a rainy day and a thought about leaving it at home but I remember thinking "if I do I'll regret it" and I would have. Many great images were captured that day--this is the crowning jewel.Time
A crisp April morning just before noon plays host to this shot.Lighting
The morning had been characterized by a dull drizzle. Finally as the afternoon approached the rain ground to a halt and my camera and I ventured forth. The day was still overcast, shedding a nice soft light all around.Equipment
A Nikon D300, 35mm at f/1.8, 1/4000 sec, 200 ISO, no flash.Inspiration
This truck had a great classic feel about it which I really wanted to capture. Many different angles were taken. This one came out the best and it gives the feeling I wanted to portray.Editing
Surprisingly little post-processing went into this image. The shadows were drawn out, the highlights darkened and contrast, saturation and sharping were tweaked. In my camera bag
My Nikon D300 and the 35mm 1.8 are constant companions. I would recommend that lens to any Nikon DX shooter. It is incredible for the price and great for low light. A Nikon 55-300 VR for telephoto shots is also included. Filters, an extra battery and memory card fill the pockets. Hopefully a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 will join them soon!Feedback
Lighting, lighting, lighting! That's what it is all about. I went back several months later hoping to capture it in HDR but the lighting was bad. Timing is very important!
