This photo was taken in Italy. Contrary to what it might seem, this photograph is not taken in nature. There were simply flowers in a vase located on a window ledge, and as this beautiful girl stood next to them, I decided to use foreground bokeh to capture the moment. I was worried about the colors blending, but it actually came out better than I'd anticipated.

I took this photo on a trip in Italy with a travel program called TFT (Travel for Teens). I was a Counselor in Training for the program, which meant I got to help some of the younger photographers learn about their camera equipment, but I also got the chance to capture some beautiful candids as well as landscape photos in Venice, Italy.Time

Where she was standing was located just in front of a bed of flowers. I was trying to incorporate Bokeh (blurred foreground or background) into some of the portraits, just as a fun style to play around with. Blurring the flowers in the foreground enhanced the shot by adding more detail, flare, and vibrance.Editing
Yes, although very minor. This shot was taken in 2022, so I don't remember all the edits/post-processing changes I made after the shot, but looking at the original, it is clear that I brought up the clarity and maybe the vibrance a little bit. Nonetheless, it's clear that my edits didn't seriously alter any features of the original photograph.In my camera bag
Because this photo was taken in 2022 and I had been using an introductory camera (Nikon D3400), my equipment has since changed. This past summer, I splurged my savings on a Nikon z50, and it's the best purchase I've ever made! (: Depending on what I'm shooting, where I'm shooting, and who I'm capturing, the equipment in my bag always varies. However, I always keep the custom 16-50mm lens on the camera, so that it's easy to take on outdoor adventures, as it's small and won't get in the way.Feedback
If the focus of your shot is a person, but you are hoping to have a creative feature in the foreground, you can adjust your aperture to a low enough number where the foreground is blurry and the person (when trying to blue the foreground of a candid, the person should always be slightly farther away from the object being blurred) is clear and in abundant vivid detail.
