Location
This image is a favourite of mine and was captured whilst on vacation in Germany. We were touring different cities and I captured plenty of good images, but this one was one of the quickest I’ve ever captured.Time
It was captured late evening, we’d been out to dinner and went for a walk to burn off some calories afterwards. We stopped for a coffee and I noticed this beautiful burst of lights across the lake and I instantly knew what kind of image I wanted to capture.Lighting
It’s all city light and reflection, across the front of me was a strip of decorative lights, which I thought would add depth to the skyline.Equipment
A handheld image that is hot on my Z6 with my Sigma 35mm.Inspiration
Most of the time, I just take a step back and enjoy the beauty around me. But sometimes, that beauty can be made even more special by making it abstract.Editing
I added the raw file into Ps and added some slight sharpening and contrast, but other than that, it was as shot.In my camera bag
My Nikon kit is essential, usually a D800, D810, Z6 and various Nikon lenses, I also carry Sigma Art lenses.Feedback
My advice as always, would be to just have fun, capture the moment, see the true beauty of nature and the world around us, less can be more, so keep that in mind and don’t be afraid to experiment. Good luck!
