Captured in: Port Clyde, ME.
This lighthouse may seem a bit familiar to those who've seen the movie Forrest Gump. This location is the eastern most point that Forrest reaches during his (mid-movie) cross country run. He runs down this walkway, reaches the door of the lighthouse, turns around, and heads back towards the western half of the U.S. again.
As for this shot... I've previously only had the opportunity to visit this location in the afternoon, so I was happy to finally have the chance to photograph it in a much more favorable light.
Initially the sunset sky was devoid of any interest and offered only some muted color at best. Once the sun was down however, it was like someone flipped a switch. Orange and blue hues seemed to creep in, and a crescent moon dropped in for a brief cameo during moonset. All the components fell into place, revealing a wonderful coastal Maine scene. No image of mine can do justice to the beauty of this place, but hopefully this one was able to sample how magical and peaceful it can be.
