Beautiful capture. Plants of any form by far are my favorite subjects. Nice capture.

Location
This was taken in my garden at home. My wife is a keen gardener and we always have lots of flowers.Time
It was taken in the afternoon. Quite dull and overcast.Lighting
This was an experiment with lighting. Using a ring flash for the first time with a macro shot. I hadn't thought of doing that before but it suggested while on a one to one teaching session. I think it worked out pretty wellEquipment
My usual canon 800D, 100-300 macro lens and a fairly cheap led ring light flashInspiration
I was wanting to try out the lighting technique, so I was deliberately looking for the opportunity.Editing
Not too much, ran it through my usual light room routine, set WB, colour profile. Tweaked levels slightly but that was it.In my camera bag
Apart from my camera, I usually carry 3 lenses, my wide angle for landscapes, sigma 28-125 general purpose lens (good for just about anything) and my 100-300 zoom for longer shots of people, wildlife or macros.Feedback
Using a ringlight flash for a macro shot like this works really well. You can see the texture and colour has been brought out nicely. The extra light from the flash makes shooting handheld so much easier.
