Dusk shot. Because the boats always move imperceptibly on the water, it was not possible to use the exposure blending technique for this one.

Location
This is taken in Quebec City, from the Old Port area. The marina is called "Bassin Louise" and pedestrians can walk all around it, which multiplies the points of view to take the city in photo. The building in the background is a government office.Time
This is sunset in August, so around 8:00PM.Lighting
Sunset was breathtaking that night and I had no choice but to immortalize the moment.Equipment
Sony a7RMII, Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 55 mm F1.8 lens, tripod and GND filter.Inspiration
I use frequently the exposure blending technique (EBT) in my photos, because for me, it is the best way to capture all the subtleties of the lights. As I said, the sunset was absolutely gorgeous that night, and the building in the background had some night lights already opened, so I wanted to use EBT for this image. But there was one major challenge: the boats in the foreground. Because they are on the water, they move slightly between the shots, so it was impossible to use EBT for them. Read in the post-processing section how I solved the problem.Editing
So, I decided to try a mix of EBT for the background and a single shot for the boats, by making a photomontage on the computer. The composite image received some final adjustments and the result is what you see on Viewbug. In my camera bag
Camera: Sony a7R II Lens: Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 with the Sigma MC-11 adapter; Zeiss 35mm Distagon F1.4; Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 55 mm F1.8; Sony 90mm F2.8 Macro, RRS Tripod, FLM CB 58 ballhead, Singh Ray ND filter, remote shutter release cable.Feedback
Post processing on this image was particularly tedious. Be ready for a few hours in front of the computer.
