Location
As one can guess from the window decorations, the photo was taken in October, a few days before Halloween. De la Porte street is near the famous château Frontenac. In fact, from where I stand to take the picture, the château is just behind me.Time
Early in the morning, around 7H30. In October, the sun already rise late in the morning and this image was taken only 40 minutes after sunrise.Lighting
At this time of the day, the sun was directly lighting the frontage of the houses, although it was not a clear, bright morning. Some clouds were darkening lightly the scene.Equipment
A Sony a7R II camera with a Zeiss Distagon 35mm F1.4 lens. Tripod, FLM CB58 ballhead and a remote shutter release cable.Inspiration
It was Halloween time, the city was decorated in many places. I thought that the architecture of these houses suited so well the Halloween spirit. The man sitting in the stairs was not in the initial thoughts regarding composition; I noticed him only several minutes after I set myself to take the image!Editing
Yes, but only light retouching: tone, contrast, color enhancement, nothing else.In my camera bag
Camera: Sony a7R II Lens: Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 55 mm F1.8, Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 with the Sigma MC-11 adapter; Zeiss 35mm Distagon F1.4; Sony 90mm F2.8 Macro RRS Tripod, FLM CB 58 ballhead, Singh Ray ND filter, remote shutter release cable.Feedback
Nothing special, here. This image is all about composition and lighting.
