Location
This photo was taken at the Wat Phra Dhammakaya Buddhist Temple complex, 23 Khlong Sam, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani 12120, Thailand.Time
This photo was taken towards the end of the day, at 4:41 pm according to the metadata, on December 11, 2019.Lighting
The lighting put most of this particular photo in shadows which was brought out in post processing.Equipment
I took this photo with a Nikon Z 7, paired with a Nikkor 18-300mm 3.5-5.6 lens.Inspiration
Driving through Pathum Thani province we encountered a huge Buddhist temple complex, the most striking was several structures which looked like huge flying saucers. While stopped to take photos we were approached by representatives of the temple complex who offered us a tour of their facilities. Long story short, after donning provided white garments we were provided a tour of the facilities with an explanation of the purpose, history and and accomplishments of the temple.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to bring out the shadows and add texture to the photo. The sky was enhanced with the Skylum Luminar 4 Photoshop plugin. In my camera bag
On this trip I was carrying the Nikon Z 7 Mirrorless Camera, a 28-300mm lens, a Manfrotto Mini-tripod, and a Nikon Speedlight.Feedback
Travel allows for some fantastic photo opportunities which are sometimes found off the beaten path. Research the areas in which you are traveling through and talk to the locals about interesting places to photograph.
