Aspens at Lake Sabrina

Once back at Lake Sabrina, since the sun was already set, I took my time exploring the trail without rushing to the lakeshore thinking that I could catch the sunset glow cast on the mountains.

This particular aspen tree caught my eye, a bit off the trail, and I couldn’t believe that no one was stopping here. I pulled out the telephoto lens that I brought with me to compress the background as much as I wanted to isolate the tree from the background. Besides, I knew that I would not have had any similar results with 16-35mm anyway.

Like most, I was simply mesmerized by the change of colors in gradation from green to yellow to orange to red, occurring right before my eyes. The rich colors were simply eye candy that I couldn’t take my eyes off of.
