DAY 2 - LONESOME TREE AND MILKY WAY
Lonesome tree and Milky Way
I recomposed a shot of the lonesome tree (please refer to the two previous posts) with the Milky Way in mind. As it got dark, the galaxy rose like clockwork in the southeast over Mojave desert.
Jupiter first and then Mars accompanied the galaxy as usual. And there was Saturn of course, close to the galactic core. It may be predictable, but the sight always mesmerizes me.
It is hot in the California desert, even in spring, but it is also one of the best times to visit and delve into astrophotography as the galactic core of the Milky Way starts to appear above the horizon. It’s either Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Borrego Springs or Mojave, the night sky in the desert offers the best opportunities for capturing the galaxy.
This particular lonesome tree that I grew fascinated by during my stay near Hole in the Wall deserves more attention. So, I’ve decided to create a 3-photo series.
