Hub where the PCT, JMT and HST all meet
Morning arrived at Wallace Creek Campground, and it was a slightly cool one at the elevation of 10,646 feet. Because the previous day was a mentally exhausting and physically challenging one, I ended up not taking many photos. Also, we were visited by two new backpacking friends, now our Facebook friends, whom I had briefly acquainted with at Kern Hot Springs and Junction Meadow. We called it an early night after they left for their campsite. I got up early though to catch the sunrise. Our next stop would be the famous Guitar Lake in the Whitney Zone, which meant we would be exiting the Sequoia National Park that day. Honestly, the prospect of walking just over 6 ½ miles in distance and gaining under 1,000 feet in elevation was quite welcoming. One thing that we noticed here though is that because of the fact that Wallace Creek is a hub where the PCT, JMT and HST all meet, it was quite busy. We saw quite a few backpackers sauntering by our campsite from the moment we arrived at the campground to the moment we left.
