DAY 2 - MY FORESTER UNDER STARS
My Forester under stars
As usual, I wanted to capture star trails with Polaris. While I wanted the lonesome tree (see the previous post) to be the subject in the foreground, I also wanted it to be the subject for a Milky Way shot that I had in mind.
In that moment I had a decision to make. I didn’t want to set up my cameras in the opposite sides of the tree because it would’ve prevented me from accessing them while taking the shots.
So, I gave it a thought for a minute and chose My Forester as my subject. Once I set up my camera, all I had to do was sit and wait.
Then slowly a night of solitude kicked in. In that moment, everything that I may fret about or care for in this world ceased to exist. As if time stood still. And what flashed before my eyes instead was a snapshot of the past that traveled through time and space. For some stars it’s 13.8 billion years. As old as the universe.
And just like that, the memory of that particular moment also may disappear in a flash.
