Outlet of Blue Lake

After over 5 miles on the not so difficult Lake Sabrina Trail, I reached Blue Lake, my hiking destination of the day. There were a few backpackers who set up their camps as well as day hikers enjoying the lake views. The tall walls of jagged peaks at the south of the lake reminded me of Ediza Lake, but not as spectacular.

While taking lunch, I pondered if I wanted to stay here till sunset. But considering the amount of time that would take me back, I decided against it. Meantime I wondered where the name Blue Lake came from. Surely the cloudless blue skies made the lake blue, but...

Right before leaving, I made a stop at the outlet of the lake, which presented beautiful mirror like reflections of the ridge line. And I loved how the sun beamed through the water and lit up the rocks at the bottom of this shallow corner.
