During our visit of the Etosha Nationalpark, Namibia we found a group of ostriches, which were drinking at a waterhole. We observed them for a while when suddenly 3 of them lined up perfectly.
The "Common Ostrich" is nowadays the biggest bird alive. They can kill a predator with a single powerful kick. The "Head in the Sand" myth is rooted in the ostrich's behaviour when they want to avoid danger or take care of their eggs. From a distance, it seems that the birds bury their heads in the sand.
