We encountered this lonely bull on a boat cruise on Chobe River in Chobe National Park, Botswana. It was a peaceful moment as he walked around looking for food. Botswana, Chobe River, in particular, is still a refugium for large elephant herds. Besides the permanent water source in Chobe National Park & the Okwango Delta, animal protection measures like an anti-poaching task force helped that the population is growing. The trade of ivory is still a very popular market in Asia. With more than 1.3 million elephants to around 350 000 animals in only 40 years, the African Elephant population decreased drastically. We have to stop the war for ivory to save the majestic animals.
