This was taken near Bueno Vista Colorado. I believe it was originally tunneled for a train line, but the tracks were moved several hundred feet west. The road is mostly just a local park these daysTime

The Buena Vista area is someplace I had never visited, so I made a point of swinging by the town on my way from the St. Elmo ghost town to Cripple Creek. It's a nice area!Editing
This is an HDR created by combining 3 different exposures using LightRoom. The shot was also converted to monochrome and contrast tweaked.In my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon 80D (I finally wore out the shutter in my trusty 70D) with a Sigma 18/300mm mounted, and a 5D Mk III with any number of lenses, ranging from a 8mm diagonal fisheye to a Sigma 200-500mm telephoto depending on what I'll be shooting. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't plan shots beforehand - I'm a pretty impromptu/opportunistic photographer. I've found I spend the most time with various prime lenses and the 18-300mm Sigma though, the Sigma's range lets you capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the openFeedback
I make a point of scheduling extra time and trying to stay off the big interstates when traveling, in order to be able to explore areas like this along the way. It may take more time to get somewhere, but it makes the trip a lot more fun!
