Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at the carousel at the Dallas Zoo, the chain was dangling near the entrance but I really don't know what it's original purpose was!Time
it was near noon on a very overcast dayLighting
lighting was very muted and it was raining on and offEquipment
This was taken hand-held with a Canon 80D and Tamron 16-300mm lensInspiration
I was mostly just playing with the camera while waiting on my significant otherEditing
color and lighting was enhanced a bit in LightRoom, but not much was doneIn my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon 80D (I finally wore out the shutter in my trusty 70D) with a Tamron 16/300mm mounted, and a 5D Mk III with any number of lenses, ranging from a 8mm diagonal fisheye to a Sigma 200-500mm telephoto depending on what I'll be shooting. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't plan shots beforehand - I'm a pretty impromptu/opportunistic photographer. I've found I spend the most time with various prime lenses and the 16-300mm Tamron though, the Tamron's range lets you capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the openFeedback
This was pretty impromptu, I was just playing with depth of field...
