Thanks everyone for the congratulations. @terrilprugh. It is a former pilot station and is now used as port authority building.

Location
This shot was taken in Stralsund, Germany near the island of Rügen where we stayed for a vacation. We just had visited the Ozeaneum (one of Europes biggest public aquariums) and were heading back to our car near the harbour in the foggy night, when I saw the building.Time
It was late afternoon in the middle of winter (on Dec 28th 2010 at 5:26pm to be exact) when I walked by this building. I walked around it to find the best position to also get some snow in the foreground.Lighting
The fog just gave this scene some strange and otherworldy feeling. I just used the available light to not destroy that impression (and I didn't have a flash with me anyway).Equipment
I used a Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 16-35mm/f4 at 35mm. No flash, no tripod or any other accessories.Inspiration
When I was walking with my wife and some friends back to our car, we came buy this building. The fog gave this scene a strange feeling, so I just had to grab my camera and take a picture.Editing
Compared to the original RAW file, I just changed the white balance a bit to blue, to get a bit colder feelingIn my camera bag
At that time I had a Nikon D700 full frame camera with the 16-35/f4, the 24-85/f3.5-4.5 and the 70-200/2.8 VR as main lenses. As full frame lenses got bigger and heavier, I switched to the micro four thirds system. Nowadays I use a OM Systems OM-1. I like the versatility of the system and have lenses for all kinds of purposes. E.g. when I go light, I take one of the small f/1.8 primes or a pancake zoom. My most used standard lens is the 12-40mm/2.8, but I also have lenses with a range from 7mm to 2000mm, so I have to chose, which lenses I take with me depending on the occasion.Feedback
The most important part is having a camera with you. I didn't plan to take this picture, I was lucky to have my gear with me as we just had visited a public aquarium. Also, the worse the weather, the more interesting and unique pictures you might get. Everybody takes pictures in nice weather, but fewer do it when the weather gets colder and more wet...
