This was taken at a Bluegrass Festival in Ronceverte WV. The instructor and Master was playing and his 2 year old student joined him on stage

I visited a local rookery and spotted this beautiful creature with full breeding plumage on "display" for all the potential mates.

We stopped for lunch and these beauties were growing near the side of the road. The brilliant color caught my eye and luckily I had my camera.

Alaska..a desert in the Yukon. Sand and snow!

It took me almost an hour of following this little guy around so he would land long enough for me to get this photo.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my yard in West Virginia. We call our property Green Acres ….we have 32 acres in the mountains....so I titled my photography work....Green Acres Photographs.

Time

This photo was taken in the late afternoon. I had to wait quite a while to get the shot. The Monarch butterflies are very busy....especially since I have so many butterfly plants for them to feast on.

Lighting

Having a beautiful sunny day helped with the natural lighting on this photo.

Equipment

I took this with my Canon PowerShot camera....hand held.

Inspiration

I am obsessed with the beauty of our property during spring and summer. I love birds, butterflies and flowers and I have plenty of all to photograph.

Editing

The only thing I did was crop this photo.

In my camera bag

I usually have both Canon cameras with me and 2 or 3 lenses, a monopod and a tripod.

Feedback

I don't feel I'm qualified to give any advice at this time. I am self-taught and truly a novice. I think practice is what is needed so I get out as much as I can.
