This old gnarled tree makes a wonderful subject for exploring textures with a camera. Old lichen, twisted grain and peeling bark all add to an idea of times gone by.. Shot at Bear Lake Utah in mid afternoon. Part of this challenge was capturing the grain in midday light created by the sun right overhead.
