Simmering in very nonchalant fashion
Upon returning to Thousand Island Lake, I wanted to stay by the water and capture the reflections of the mountains in the water. But, the strong gale of winds that never stopped blowing continued not only into the night but also till next morning. After early dinner, I set up my camera and waited. I really liked this composition where the rocks in the water in foreground were leading the eye toward the pines on the little piece of land jutting out into the lake and then eventually to Mt. Ritter, the focal point of the image. The peak was gleaming in a vivid orange glow, and the lake seemed to be simmering in a very nonchalant fashion.
