And then impeccable orange
When I opened my eyes and looked through the small pocket-size opening of my sleeping bag, it felt like the sun was already up. For a second, I thought that I slept through the sunrise. Then, the alarm just went off. Guess my body knew it was time to wake up. As I often do, I had the rain fly removed when I went to bed because it wasn’t windy and that I knew there was no rain in the forecast. Falling asleep while counting the stars is one of my favorite things to do in the wilderness. I got out of my tent and got the cameras ready. Once the sun was rising behind me, Mt. Ritter and Banner Peak started glowing in dark red, almost rich dark purple, at first. And then burning red. And then impeccable orange. As I had been waiting for it. And the calm water without a single breeze reflected just that.
