Into another dimension

As the night got darker, more stars came out and got strewn all over the heavenly body. Jupiter, largest planet in our solar system, rose high. Although it was the third brightest object in the night sky (second brightest planet, in fact) after the moon and Venus (brightest planet), a new moon night without a single speck of cloud in the sky let it gleam in the southeast sky just like Venus. It was still way early to see Mars follow suit. But, Saturn, second largest planet in our solar system, rose along with the Milky Way, which was already rising vertically toward Mt. Ritter. The reflection of our galaxy and the planets in the water appeared as if they were traveling across the lake into another dimension. Outer space with thousands of stars was that much closer.
