Light pollution was unavoidable
Once the moon was set, it was quite dark in my bare eyes. But the light pollution from the El Centro and Imperial area was quite severe in long exposure. As though another moon was about to rise. Initially I wanted to frame a shot with the Serpent’s head in the opposite direction of the light pollution while the Milky Way was shooting up vertically behind the head. But the clouds grew thicker and the galactic core was no longer visible. So, I came around the head and framed it with the end of the galaxy dropping in the northeast. Which meant the light pollution was unavoidable. Two 30-second exposures and two 31-second exposures moderately light painted with a headlamp were stacked with a 183-second exposure. Also, the head support metal pole was removed in Photoshop for aesthetic purposes.
