Location
Sometimes the best photographs are captured right in your own front yard. We have so many plants and flowers that attract the birds and bees. It is such a joy to be able to observe them in this close and lively environment.Time
Mid morning capture with a partial to full sun exposure.Lighting
The front yard has patches of sun and shade. I waited until the light hit the flower and illuminated the bee at work.Equipment
Nikon D5000 using a macro setting with my Tamron lens.Inspiration
The magic of the multitude of bees gathering nectar. They were working every flower in the yard. I also have a deep appreciation and love for bees.Editing
Minimal fine tuning using the camera edit setting on iPhoto. I decided to present this capture in black and white for a more dramatic effect. In my camera bag
My Nikon D5000 camera, Tamron lens, some filters and my iPhone.Feedback
Optimal lighting conditions are a great start to achieving the desired image you are after. I "pre-focused" on the selected flower and waited for the bee to arrive. Patience was a virtue in this instance.
